Ingredient
- Gram flour- 1 cup
- Wheat flour- ½ cup
- Selamoni or Rava- ½ cup
- Chopped coriander leaves- 1 cup
- Turmeric powder- 1 tsp
- Oil- 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds- 1 tsp
- Ginger & garlic paste- 1 tbsp
- Tamarind chutney- 5 tsp
- All purpose flour- 2 tsp
- Roasted sesame seeds- ½ cup
- Fruit salt or Eno- ½ tsp
- Juice of ½ lime
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Method:
- In a bowl mix Selomani, wheat flour, Gram flour, turmeric powder, roasted sesame seeds, lime juice, salt & add water enough that there is no lumps and and its in a semi liquid form.
- Now in a fry pan add 1 tsp of oil, as the oil warms up add cumin seeds and as the seeds starts to crackle add ginger-garlic paste and mix well and let it cool down then add it to the bowl mixture prepared
- Grease a wide vessel which can be steamed
- Add fruit salt to the mixture and shift mixture to greased vessel
- Now steam this mixture for around 15 minutes, and check with a knife whether poking the batter that it comes out clearly then the batter is steamed enough and can be put aside for cooling
- After cooling, cut the steamed dough in equal pieces and fry them on medium flame.
- As the colour changes to golden red, remove them and serve yummy kothambir wadi with green chutney
